Geomodelling is a long and progressive task. Numerous versions of the model are produced, first in the building phase, then in the calibration one. Moreover, because input data is often uncertain, many assumptions have to be made and explored. Consequently, it is critical to assist geomodellers in managing the model versioning along the study.
Our solution is an application inspired from the versionning tools used for collaborative programming in computer sciences. A first prototype was developed within the Corporate Memory platform from Eccenca .
With this prototype, the model versions and their differences are registered in a normalized way. Differences between versions can be counted and compared. Graphs of differences are available, trees of relationship can be displayed in various way, and proximities between versions can be evaluated.
